Our Board of Advisors
In August of last year, Avid Solutions held its first meeting with its newly appointed Board of Advisors. The Board consists of three highly qualified executives from around the country. President Piercarlo Romano on the Board: “We are excited to have this talented group of leaders helping us grow our company. They were selected for their knowledge of the industry, their individual areas of expertise, and for their track records of successfully growing technology companies. We’re looking forward to their advice and close involvement in setting our long range strategy."
Returning to the North American WBF Conference
In May, Avid Solutions presented “Tips and Tricks to Applying S88 to Chemical Plant Systems” at the WBF Conference in Baltimore. This presentation was also given as a webinar in June. Upgrading to DeltaV at Albemarle Corporation: It’s a Wrap
Avid Solutions recently completed a 17-month project at Albemarle Corporation’s Orangeburg, SC facility. The project involved the installation of more than 3,100 I/O points and an Avid team that peaked at 12 people. Albemarle, a specialty chemical company, makes over 100 products at the plant, on eight separate production units. Avid replaced antiquated control systems in all eight units with DeltaV technology, which Albemarle had chosen on the basis of its batch features – and its strong track record.
Three of the eight units are used for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, including ibuprofen, and thus had to be validated. Avid Solutions provided all of the required validation documentation and authored and executed the installation and qualification documents.
Raleigh Continues to Grow
As our success in the life sciences industry continues, Avid’s growth demanded that we secure a new, larger facility. In April we moved into our new location in Apex, with a capacity for 25 personnel. The new office was designed with the infrastructure to support our growth, including a staging and panel fabrication area, T1 connectivity, and independent gigabit test networks.

As a result of this success, we’re bringing on great new talent. We will continue to invest in our growth in Life Sciences and Raleigh.”
Wonderware ArchestrA Certification
In July of this year, Avid Solutions was awarded Wonderware’s highest certification tier: ArchestrA Certified System Integrator. This highest level of participation in the Wonderware Program acknowledges Avid’s expertise with ArchestrA technology. Certification requirements include maintaining multiple ArchestrA Certified Developers on staff, as well as successful installations that leverage ArchestrA technology, Wonderware Industrial Application Server, and Galaxy Repositories.
20 Years and Growing
2007 marks Avid’s twentieth anniversary. Over that time, we’ve consistently built strong client relationships through our delivery of thousands of successful projects.
