Avid Solutions Adds Four New Team Members with a Wealth of Experience

New Consultants Bring Varied Talents to Strengthen System Integration Firm

Winston-Salem, N.C. April 8, 2016 – Avid Solutions Inc., a global provider of automation, industrial IT and smart manufacturing solutions with four offices in the U.S. and Brazil, has added a powerhouse of talent to its workforce. The system integration firm has brought on three new senior level consultants and a new department manager.

Jeff Miller joins Avid Solutions in the Raleigh, N.C. office as the Department Manager for the company’s Information Solutions Department. Miller has spent his most recent years as a Business Unit Manager at E-Technologies Group where he led four world-class programs in the fields of manufacturing intelligence, process automation, machine automation and electrical design. With a degree in electro-mechanical engineering from Miami University and several years spent as a cryptologist in the military in naval intelligence, Miller brings with him vast experience in manufacturing execution systems (MES), information solutions, custom software development, and is a thought leader for the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT).

“My goal is to build a world class Information Solutions team,” says Miller. “The high skill level of the employees in my department is well aligned with company needs. This will allow us to provide a level of value to the customer that is unparalleled in the industry.”

Brent Karickhoff joins Avid Solutions as a project manager in the company’s Atlanta office. Karickhoff previously acted as the operations manager for Kapsch TrafficCom USA, formerly Transdyn, a provider of intelligent transportation systems. With a degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech and years of experience in both project and quality management, Karickhoff excels in developing strong project management practices. In his new role, he will work with management to further improve project management methodology guidelines and quality management principles for the company.

Additional new consultants include Chris Smith in the Winston-Salem, N.C. office and Eric Owens in the Raleigh, N.C. office.

Smith is joining Avid Solutions at the senior consultant level. He recently worked as a senior process control engineer both independently and for ABB and Emerson. With a degree in nuclear engineering technology, Smith has years of experience with distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), operator interface platforms and electrical design. This high level of knowledge will prove useful in his new role both with clients and as a mentor to younger consultants at the firm.

Eric Owens is also joining Avid Solutions in the Raleigh, N.C. office at the senior consultant level. Owens has worked as a senior engineer both with Pryor Chemical Company and RoviSys. With a degree in electrical engineering from Penn State, Owens has significant experience in process automation system development and control system standards development as well as with Rockwell and Proficy iFIX SCADA. In his new role, Owens will pull from this large knowledge base to develop control systems to meet client objectives.

“We have an aggressive growth plan for the next few years. Adding team members with this high degree of experience makes sense to help us get to that next level,” says PC Romano, president of Avid Solutions. “We are excited about the knowledge and skills these new employees bring to the company to help us get where we need to go.”
