Engineers on Avid Solutions staff have the following ABB-Bailey DCS project experience dating back to 1995:
Dupont
Bailey DCS Retrofit. Systems utilized were the Bailey Infi 90 platform with MCC controllers, OIS 42 operator interface consoles, and WinTools configuration software.
Converted systems: Incinerator, Residue Concentrator, Glycol/TPA molecular mixing, Catalyst Recovery Filters, Pulse Pots, Powder Handling, Oxygen Analyzers, and Various Class A interlocks. Converted from: pneumatic systems, electro-mechanical relay systems, TI 5.5 PLC, and Toshiba DCS.
Duties included: Systems configuration, developing plant standards, developing and managing manpower, reporting project status directly to the project manager, interfacing with the customer on technical issues, setting up simulator and developing check-out and start-up sequence of events.
International Paper Company
Project 1: Electrical, Instrumentation and Systems Engineering for DCS conversion of multi-effect evaporators. Project included instrument specifications, loop sheets, conduit routing plans, ABB-Bailey DCS configuration, graphics and complete systems documentation. Systems employed were Infi-90 Open using BRC01 harmony bridge controllers, redundant BRC pairs for analog control, non-redundant BRC for serial interface to communicate to an Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC. Utilized the ABB Bailey PC-View 5.3 for the operator interface HMI.
Project 2: Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS). Utilized MFP02s and MFP01s and one (1) BRC01 harmony bridge controllers on Bailey Infi-90 Open DCS with PCView as the operator interface. Provided systems design and documentation for ABB-Bailey DCS and A-B PLC 5 series PLC to communicate with new PLCs for NOx monitoring. Upgraded 2 Bailey DCS / A-B PLC Interfaces. This was a phase II to the Y2K upgrade project listed below.
GlaxoSmithKline
New Multi-Dose Powder Inhaler (MDPI) facility project. Provided systems design, training, documentation, design review and factory acceptance testing for ABB-Bailey DCS control equipment for multiple air handlers and building utilities. Systems utilized were the Infi-90 Open, OIS 40 series operator interfaces, and BRC01 controllers.
