Piercarlo (PC) Romano, President
As president, Piercarlo (PC) sets the values and long-term vision for Avid Solutions, leads strategic planning activities, and seeks growth opportunities, all while staying on top of recent industry trends. While promoting Avid Solutions’ values of safety, integrity, work/life balance, and One Team, PC strives for transparency by sharing information with employees, clients and partners. After joining Avid in 1997 as an engineer, he became a project manager in 1999 and transitioned into the vice president of engineering services role before becoming president in 2001. Before joining the Avid Solution’s team, PC held the position of senior engineer with Motorola in Libertyville, IL. In 2013, PC was appointed chairman of the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA). In this position, he led the board of the global association of nearly 400 system integration companies for two years.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, PC also holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Walden University and an MBA from Wake Forest University. PC lives with his wife and two children in Greensboro, N.C. He enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and traveling. From his time growing up in Mexico and Brazil, he is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Kevin Trantham, Vice President of Operations
Since joining Avid Solutions in 2004, Kevin has assumed responsibility for the company’s U.S. offices located in Atlanta, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem. In his position, Kevin actively provides growth opportunities for the business, employees and clients. He began his career with DuPont in 1988 working on a $500 MM greenfield project. Kevin has years of practical experience as an end user, multi-disciplined EPC provider, and systems integrator. He has implemented and managed turnkey industrial automation projects for 25 years in a variety of industries including: nuclear, power, pharmaceutical, chemical, paper, metal, film, and water treatment. Kevin’s implementation experience is inclusive of conceptual phase design through operational support.
Kevin has an electrical engineering degree from N.C. State University and is a registered professional engineer in North and South Carolina. He lives with his wife and three children in Walkertown, N.C. Some of his most fond memories include leading elementary children’s church for 12 years and working on his 25-acre farm. Kevin believes that the confidence you gain from simple tasks out in the field can be used to tackle problems in the office. His greatest joy in life is instilling that confidence in his children.
Tracy Cini, Director of Human Resources
With almost two decades of strategic human resources experience, Tracy Cini brings wisdom, knowledge, energy and passion to her role as director of human resources. As the keeper of the culture, Tracy works to retain and develop the diverse and talented employees of Avid Solutions. She enjoys assisting with strategic decision making with the goal of growing the team as individuals, both personally and professionally. Before joining Avid Solutions in 2005, Tracy served as human resources manager for the Chesapeake Corporation and as a human resources specialist for Harris Savings Bank, Mellon Bank and Olsten Kimberly QualityCare.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Tracy holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certification and was elected president of the Winston-Salem Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. During her time as president, she led 160 local professionals as well as an 18-member board. Tracy lives with her three sons (four if you count her husband) in Clemmons, N.C. When she’s not envisioning the future of Avid Solution’s employees, she enjoys quilting, playing tennis and being on the water.
Ken Jones, Business Development Manager
Ken Jones has worked closely with the company’s department managers in order to develop new customers and Trusted Partners since he joined Avid Solutions as a business development manager in 2013. The company’s core value of One Team is not just a slogan for Ken, it encapsulates for him the way the organization values the strengths and contributions of its more than 100 employees. Prior to joining Avid Solutions, Ken was the North American business leader for Honeywell Process Solutions from 2011 to 2013, he served as corporate account manager for Honeywell from 2008 to 2011 and senior account manager for Honeywell from 2004 to 2006. He also served as vice president of sales for Maverick Technologies from 2006 to 2008.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in math from the University of West Alabama and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University, Ken began his career with Instrument Control Services in Pensacola, Fl. where he worked for 14 years in varying roles from project engineer to engineering manager. Ken lives with his wife and two children in Peachtree City, Ga. As an enthusiastic sports fan, Ken played college football for Livingston University. Today, he especially loves getting involved in sports through coaching, serving on youth boards, and participating in booster clubs. Eric Mayer, Business Development Manager
For nearly 14 years, Eric Mayer has served as a business development manager for Avid Solutions. He is responsible for bringing in new business and maintaining the company’s relationships with long-term customers and industry partners. Eric enjoys the opportunity to work in multiple industries with unique manufacturing challenges. He has enjoyed his role at Avid Solutions because no two deals are alike and thus each day is a new adventure. A creative and skilled leader, Eric brings more than 20 years of sales experience to our team. Before joining Avid in 2002, Eric served as a sales manager at GE Automation Services and gained sales experience in the IT data storage industry. His background also includes general contracting, gas processing, and the U.S. military.
